Darwin Award Contender

The city recently installed traffic control devices along the main street in my parents’ neighborhood. Rather than the speed bumps it used to have, the street now sports planters that bubble out from the curb, essentially narrowing the road to one lane at regular intervals once anyone parks on the street (and everyone parks on the street).

We were glad to see one young guy taking it in stride. Riding his bike, a cross between a moped and a motorcycle, with a passenger on the back, he was buzzing up the street while texting.
